Effective Cycling

Time to be blunt. Much of what we think will make cycling safer, and much of what we’re doing, can actually contribute to dangerous practices.

John Forester has been on top of the issue of safe and responsible cycling since the 60’s. His book “Effective Cycling” is required reading. Reading his articles one soon becomes acutely aware of his frustration at most of those shaping public policy.

Comes across a bit cranky sometimes, but probably no more than I do on the subject of bike safety on the roads. His site.
